Scrappy Fabric Belt

Yesterday's project was this belt made out of some scrap fabric. It's great for using up the pieces that are too small for any other project.
I used some scraps of light jeans, vintage fabric (with the tiny flowers),burlap and an old T-shirt.
Photobucket
I guess we could call it a patchwork belt (at least I like to think of it as my first patchwork project,so...pretty please) :)
The buckle was from my leather coat.I never wore it with the belt on.
Oh,if you would like to make one yourself,I saw this great tutorial at Not Quite Vintage.
Also,I would like to show you my baby Móric,in his full size!
Photobucket
The first picture is from when he was only a few days old,and the second one was taken two days ago.I still can't belive he got so huge! :)
And don't forget this is an 8 months old cat.haha

Simple Fabric Box Tutorial

I needed some kind of box for all the thread that was laying around my sewing machine. And I took pictures to show you how I made it! :)
It's really easy, takes only a few minutes to make one, and looks much better then the plastic container I used before.Oh, and it's from recycled jeans.
Photobucket
You will need:
-a piece of a pair of old jeans
-fabric of choice
-scissors
-measuring tape
-pins
Photobucket
Step1
Cut out your box from both materials.(mine measured 24 x 19 cm)
Photobucket
Photobucket
Step2
Pin and sew wrond sides together.Don't forget to leave open space for turning it inside out.
Photobucket
Step3
Turn it inside out and iron it flat.
Photobucket
Step4
Sew down the sides.
Photobucket
Step5
Fold one corner on the other like pictured.Pin the two corners together.
Photobucket
It should look like this when you unfold it.
Photobucket
Step6
Measure and mark 5 cm on the side of the corner.
Photobucket
Step7
Sew it down.
Photobucket
Step8
Now sew a straight line from the side of your box to the end of the line wich you sewed in the previous step.Photobucket (sorry if the instructions aren't really clear, but hey,at least the pictures are! :)
Step9
This is how your corner should look like when your done.
Photobucket
Do each corner the same and your box is finished! :)
Photobucket
If you have any questions I'm more then happy to answer them!
Hope you enjoyed!Have a lovely Valentines-day everyone!

HERE is my inspiration, wich I actually saw after I decided on making a ring out of polymer clay.

Lizard Plush Pattern

This lizard was made for my friends birthday. It was pretty simple to make,so I thought I would share the pattern I made.
The lizard is double sided, because I couldn't decide on wich side to put his face. :)
Photobucket
Here is the pattern and some instructions.
Photobucket
After tracing the pattern on your fabric of choice pin, sew, stuff.
haha, now that was pretty easy huh? :)
I used a round piece of white felt and two tiny, black buttons for the eyes.
Photobucket
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Small Sewing Projects

I'v been working on a few smaller sewing projects lately, but didn't have a chance to post them.So here they are:
Needle Book for my friends birthday
Photobucket
Phone Pouch for myself from my favorite vintage fabric
Photobucket
Camera Pouch ,I made a crochet pouch when I got the new camera, but it wasn't sturdy enough to carry around.
Photobucket
Fabric Necklace ,also for my friends birthday
Photobucket
And a tiny Apple Brooch from felt.It was really cute before the cats got their paws on it.Now it's all fluffy from all the chewing. >.<
Photobucket
So I guess I'll just leave it on the floor for them to destroy and make a new one for myself.
